Ashley Danielek is an artist and illustrator born and raised on the West Coast.

Her career, initially rooted in illustration, organically evolved into a path of creative direction and design within the tech industry. Ashley’s work is a celebration of life’s delicate details, whether through her expressive fine art or her whimsical, character-driven illustrations. She has a particular fondness for capturing the natural world, especially its feathered and furry inhabitants, and the tiny, everyday moments that define human connection.

As the founder of Making, she pioneered a platform that started as a podcast in 2014, narrating the stories of creatives. This endeavor blossomed into a print magazine that rejoiced in art and craft for the modern maker until 2022, and then transformed into a social marketplace dedicated to artists, makers, and handmade enthusiasts.

In 2022, Ashley embraced a profound artistic resurgence, which has continued to evolve through both large-scale fine art and intimate, narrative-driven illustration. Her primary mediums are oil pastels and paints, often blended to craft pieces that are both vibrant and expressive, alongside her signature hand-drawn illustrations.

Finding joy on the West Coast, Ashley spends a good deal of time cooking for and convincing her three boys that art is the spice of life.
